Roots & Recipes Assignment 8.13

    I will be describing Ozoni (Mochi Soup).  Every January 1st, my family and I would always head to my grandparents' house to celebrate the new year.  Since I was a little girl, my absolute favorite part of that day would be the Ozoni.  My relatives have told me that as the mochi dangles and stretches, it is symbolizing long life.  Some of the sensory details that I will use to bring the food "to life" for the readers will be the a very vivid description of the overall essence of the day, as well as the taste, look, and texture of the soup.  I will be interviewing my grandma for this food.

    Hi Leah,

    Sounds like a good selection for your roots and recipes project. Ozoni seems to combine both the special food and special memories of New Years in your life. Be sure to include specific detail though...more than the label "sensory detail" because I am assessing your understanding of specific detail in this blog assignment :)
